Redondo Street Flower Festival (Ruas Floridas)

Every two years the streets of Redondo, in the Alentejo region of Portugal, come alive with flowers. Not actually alive, since they’re paper flowers, but absolutely alive with color and creativity. And it’s not just flowers. Animals, movie characters, food and all sorts of other items all made of paper.

The festival pretty much takes up all the streets in Redondo so you’ll need to zig zag around to catch all the activity including street markets selling various local items and food vendors. Each street is decorated around a theme. Here are a few of my favorites. The street name titles are of my own creation.

If you missed this years event, you’ll need to wait until August 2025 for the next one. Fortunately there are tons of things to do in the area in the meantime.
